October 12, 2017
Bulgaria is the place to be for a lot of location independent entrepreneurs. Matthias E. Zeitler, Co-Founder of Coworking Bansko explains why this environment has a lot of benefits for location independent entrepreneurs.
Matthias E. Zeitler and Uwe Allgäuer are the founders of Coworking Bansko. They met on a Sailing Workation where they started to dream about a co-working space. A place where entrepreneurs can learn from each other and start to collaborate. Irina Pandeva is from Bulgaria. She has family in Bansko and runs Coworking Bansko as the Chief Coworking Officer now. The 3 of them wanted to create a new environment for the locals and tourists in this area. Currently, they traveling a lot to meet new people and expand their network for Coworking Bansko.
The future of Coworking Bansko
We don’t focus on the money aspect. We focus on creating an environment where we can help other entrepreneurs, travel bloggers and co-working owners with their projects. A Coworking membership at our community will cost you €100,00 per month.
We participate in the Erasmus Program. Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs is a cross-border exchange programme which gives new or aspiring entrepreneurs the chance to learn from experienced entrepreneurs running small businesses in other Participating Countries.
The exchange of experience takes place during a stay with the experienced entrepreneur, which helps the new entrepreneur acquire the skills needed to run a small firm. The host benefits from fresh perspectives on his/her business and gets the opportunities to cooperate with foreign partners or learn about new markets.
We also have space for volunteers. The activities of the volunteers depending on their skills. We always look how we can merge them in our team. We have a “Nomad in Residence” program where volunteers can stay with us for one month for free in exchange for about 1 hour per day of their time.
Long-term independent entrepreneurs are recommended to buy or rent an apartment in Bansko or other East European Countries. This is interesting because of the low prices and low taxation.
How do you keep your Balance?
This is a question which is better to ask people who live in a city. In Bansko, we enjoy the great environment. We look out over the mountains and the forest. It is all very relaxed and informal. If you would like to speak about a project, we always recommend to come by for a cup of coffee and let’s see what we can co-create!
What kind of events can we find at Coworking Bansko?
We organize a lot of events. Especially for our community. We organize events like mountain biking, at our hot swimming pool, BBQ’s in the forest and we encourage presentations by our co-workers.
We also host weekend events. The last couple of months has been busy with events as Woman on a Mountain, Coworking Unconference Bansko (Bulgaria) – CUBB 2017 and Travel Blogger events.
